Kids & Dogs
Family training solutions have become one of our specialties! All courses are taught or presented by Michelle Douglas, Certified Professional Dog Trainer (KA), Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC), Licensed Family Paws™ Parent Educator, and MOM of two. "Being a mom myself, and living in the real world, I understand the challenges families face every single day.”
WTNH SEGMENT: Getting the dog ready for a new baby
Dogs & Storks® is perfect for expecting families with dogs as they prepare with their dog for life with a baby. We offer positive, practical, and fun solutions that will help you include your dog once baby arrives. We want to help ease families into the transition from pet parents to baby parents with dogs.
Group workshops offer a general overview of the information but do not offer hands-on training with your dog(s). Workshop attendees receive 10% off of a Behavior Consultation to address any behavioral concerns.

Dogs & Toddlers™ is the ideal program for families with dogs and babies who are soon to be crawling or walking. Often the first 3 months have gone smoothly and many families are caught off guard when their dog begins to show discomfort with the new developmental changes of their mobile baby. This program offers insight and proactive options for some of the common challenges families with dogs experience as the baby becomes mobile.
2026 DOGS & TODDLERS™ GROUP WORKSHOPS & FEES:
Regular Webinars on the FAMILY PAWS website
Both The Dogs & Storks™ and the Dog & Toddlers™ programs were created by Jennifer Shryock, MA, CDBC, with Family Paws, a certified dog behavior consultant and mother of four.
REFINED FAMILIES CONSULTATIONS
REFINED FAMILIES consultations are priced at a flat $250 and are scheduled by appointment. This is a 90-minute personalized consultation on Zoom. We will utilize information from the Dogs & Storks and the Dogs & Toddlers workshops, as well as other family-centric resources to help you prepare for a new baby or build an appropriate relationship between your dog and your children. *If you have specific concerns about your dog’s behavior, please submit a BEHAVIOR HISTORY FORM prior to scheduling this consultation. If there are behavior issues, we will need to do a behavior consultation, not the Dog & Baby Smart Start (which does not address behavior concerns like anxeity or aggression).
*In-person follow-up sessions are limited due to Michelle’s ongoing cancer treatments
