BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION

Behavior Modification goes beyond traditional dog training and seeks to do more than simply control unwanted behavior. The behavior consultant establishes the root causes of why problem dogs act as they do, designs a behavior modification program to modify the problem, and then teaches the owner how to effectively apply the program. Obedience training is always an integral part of any canine modification program. When you choose to work with The Refined Canine, LLC the same trainer takes you through the entire training program, providing one on one attention from the initial fact gathering consultation, through the modification program, and will also instruct you in private lessons, or admit you into a group obedience class.  Michelle is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC - currently the only one in CT) and a Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT).

$250 for a Behavior Consultation and Modification Program in person

$150 for a Behavior Consultation and Modification Program via phone/e-mail

$400 for Behavior Consultation and Modification Program (in person) PLUS 2 follow-up lessons (1 hour each)

$500 for Behavior Consultation and Modification Program (In person) PLUS 4 follow-up lessons (1 hour each) ***BEST VALUE***

$50 one-time fee for additional dogs (up to 3)

$10 for each 30 minutes travel time beyond 1 hour round-trip

$25 for each 30 minutes over 1 hour per lesson (except consultation)

AGGRESSION...
There are many causes of canine aggression, such as hereditary traits, fearfulness, illness, diet, pain, lack of socialization, aggressive training techniques and unintentional conditioning, traumatic experiences, impulse-control (formerly referred to as "dominance"), etc. Each separate cause of aggression may require a different modification program. Don’t go it alone, and don’t wait until it is too late.  If your dog is at all aggressive, immediately call a trainer/behavior consultant to work with you. Please don’t wait. We owe it to ourselves and our pets to assure that they are a safety in society.
